We’ve cleared some brush on the west side of the vineyard and, after prepping the ground through the summer and fall, we’ll be planting three more acres of pinot noir in the spring of 2009. We’re going with an acre each of 114 and 828 on SO4 rootstock, and an acre of 777 on riparia gloire. We’re trying tighter vine spacing on these blocks - 4 x 7 and 3 x 7. We’re looking forward to the 2011 vintage! |

During some recent rainy weather we painted some bird boxes that we’ve been placing around the vineyard. The swallows seem to like them. This American Goldfinch watched me working the other day. Haven’t seen them near the boxes, but they are welcome. |
